Sun Cruz casino boat regulars will be happy to know that they can once again enjoy their favorite pastime playing real casino games aboard a cruise ship. Sun Cruz ceased operations in December last year after it has applied for bankruptcy.

But with recent news of a better casino boat docking in Little River, loyal patrons as well as former Sun Cruz employees who suddenly found themselves jobless are once again in good spirits as they anticipate the opening of the casino cruise ship.

A 79-year-old retiree was glad to hear the news of the Aquasino arriving at the Little River docks since he badly missed playing at the defunct Sun Cruz casino boat, which he often visited with his wife. He was a loyal patron of the former casino boat for nine years before it shut down. He’s hoping to spend many long years at the Aquasino with his wife once it is open for operations.

PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY

With the arrival of the casino boat, the management was likewise happy to announce that about two hundred and twenty job openings will be ready for occupancy to get the preparations for the ship’s opening in full swing.

A former captain of the Sun Cruz who had the unfortunate experience of losing his job in the middle of the holidays last year was only too glad to accept the job for the same position aboard the Aquasino.

Other key positions, a total of sixty in all are still available for application; these include food and beverage managers; reservations and IT personnel. Applications are being handled by the Coastal Workforce Center. To best prepare the entire ship’s personnel, a ten-day training will be held for all new employees.

Renovations to improve the ship’s interiors, plus installations of world-class casino equipment are also being undertaken in preparation for the ship’s first cruise; which everyone is hoping to witness soon.

STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES

With the renovations and improvements comes a bigger and better diner which is approximated to be three times larger than the previous diner during the Sun Cruz days. This will give all the guests plenty of room to enjoy their food while going on a day trip aboard the casino boat.

Among the latest technologies to be put in place aboard the ship is a new ticketing program similar to those currently being used in first-class casinos along the Las Vegas strip.

The latest high-technology slots games will also be installed to give more gaming options for casino players.

All these state-of-the-art facilities will be enjoyed by passengers while they go on a day-trip, which would cost only about ten dollars; minus food and beverages.

The ship can accommodate up to six hundred guests at a time, making it one of the largest casino boats in the United States to date. Aquasino proprietor Robert Weisberg was also quoted as saying that the Aquasino is perhaps the nicest ship of this nature in all of the United States.

With all these improvements and better services, Aquasino hopes to provide a one-of-a-kind casino boat experience for all first-time guests as well as regular patrons of the now defunct Sun Cruz casino boat.

Perhaps there is a bit of pressure on Aquasino to deliver more than its predecessor but the ship’s management team assures everyone that they can top the Sun Cruz and they are well-prepared to handle the pressures of opening this kind of casino ship in Little River.
