Atlantic City’s Bally’s Wild Wild West Casino is aiming at major renovations this year, targeting the summer for completion of the project. It is hoping to attract more customers come summertime with the new improvements about to take shape soon.
Loyal patrons, including residents living nearby, have expressed their desire to see the casino restored back to its glory days; back to the time when it enjoyed a huge following thanks to its innovative design of robotics providing a different kind of entertainment to customers.
Nowadays, you can just see the animatronics as still as a statue. Gone are its days of showing off their antics to the delight of viewers. Management of the casino has admitted that the animatronics have stopped functioning due to years of use. The makers of these well-loved characters are out of business already and they just couldn’t find anyone to do the repairs.
Back in the late 90s, Wild Wild West Casino was the 1st of its kind in the casino industry in Atlantic City. It was differently-themed and what attracted customers to the casino were the animatronics that you can see performing – singing, talking, gun-slinging and panning.
The interiors were in keeping up with the whole cowboy theme with an Old Western concept and customers truly feel they are walking back in time. There is a saloon, a dance hall and town bank; that adds to the Old West ambience of the whole place. Add to this the wide range of game available for play, and you will have one exciting experience when you visit the casino.
From the outside, one can already tell that this casino has all the trappings of Old Western movies and the excitement of modern-day casinos. But this was back in 1997. Today, none of the animatronics work and the place has somehow lost its brilliance. Unfortunately, the casino has become passé over the years and was often overlooked by casino-goers in recent years. But all this is about to change according to Wild Wild West Senior Vice-President, Joe Domenico.
Times they are a-changing and this is what the casino is looking at for their renovations. While still keeping its Old Western theme, the gaming area will undergo a complete facelift, with more tables and slots to allow more customers in.
Live entertainment will take the place of the animatronics and an electronic bull will take the main stage. The casino boasts of being the 1st to have an electronic bull as part of the entertainment. Diners and pubs inside the casino will also be given a facelift to further liven up the place.
The casino is aiming at creating a more laid-back casino gaming experience, which is in contrast to most casinos nowadays. Imagine clubbing western style while playing a few of your favorite casino games. Domenico, who is also Wild Wild West Casino general manager, promises that the casino will be even more exciting and fun than its predecessor.
The casino management is in fact excited about the changes that will take place to shape-up the casino and keep it in tune with the changing times. The prospective date of completion for these renovations will be just in time for the 4th of July, to welcome summer vacationers looking to play in casinos.
With the planned renovations, the outmoded animatronics characters will be taken out and the management is hoping that this change will bring back the luster the casino once enjoyed since the parent company of Wild Wild West once considered closing down the casino for its lackluster performance.
