At the start of the week, Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods entered into an agreement with TransAct Technologies Incorporated. The gambling giant and the global leader in printers for specific markets agreed to have the EPICENTRAL Print System be installed in 300 of the slot machines in the casino. The printing machines will be tested for a trial period that will start on December 2010. The Vice President for Slot Operations for Foxwoods, Lou Rosa said that their company is looking forward to experiencing the print system and getting feedback for it from their patrons. He added, “With over 6,000 slot machines on our award-winning property, we’re always looking for ways to differentiate Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods from the competition and believe this partnership will help us do just that.”

The EPICENTRAL Print System is TransAct Technologies’ newest product which offers convenience and ease of transaction for slot machine patrons. This printing system connects directly to TransAct’s ServerPort device located inside the slot machine. It is a software system that is easy to use and affordable to operate. For the casino, this system will enable it to plan marketing programs and promotional coupons by themselves. They can then distribute these to customers right then and there. Moreover, the system will function with all slot systems and games that already exist as it is separate and different from the slot system. With this, Foxwoods will be able to connect the EPICENTRAL Print System to any slot machine that is working. The machine’s manufacturer is not considered, whether it is the same or different with the current slot system, as long as the particular slot machine has a TransAct Epic 950(R) printer.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TransAct Technologies, Bart Shuldman, commented that their company’s partnership with Foxwoods is something that thrilled them. After all, Foxwoods is one of the leading casinos in the US. Thus, to introduce the EPICENTRAL Print System to the public through Foxwoods is a great leap forward for their company. He added, “We believe the EPICENTRAL Print System will be a significant addition to Foxwoods’ marketing program as it will enable the casino to reach out in real-time to its customers with multiple marketing and promotional messages to incentivize additional play time on the slot machines, promote incremental purchases throughout the property or induce additional visits in the future. We look forward to a successful trial run and the possibility of a major expansion of the system at Foxwoods in the near future.”

With the software system in use, Foxwoods can now give players special drawing entries and promotional coupons while players are use their machines. Other things the system will provide the patrons are messages for promotions, restaurant meals, show tickets and hotel rooms, and more. Foxwoods will be able to use the EPICENTRAL Print System offer promotions and incentives for their customers. These would, in turn, make customers spend more time on the casino and attract additional visits.

Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods currently boast six casinos which host 380 table games that include blackjack, craps and baccarat, among others. The casino also has a WPT World Poker Room in its New England facility which has 98 tables open round the clock. The MGM Grand at Foxwoods facility boasts 60 table games.
