In a sweeping move to characterize various forms of gaming, Virginia state lawmakers are looking to banning sweepstakes cafes while endorsing betting on horses. State officials are convinced that horse betting is a legal and beneficial pastime ,while internet sweepstakes are “illegal and preys only on low income residents.”
Gambling enthusiasts are optimistic that online casino gaming will become a significant part of Iowan economy; the only question that remains is whether the current bill will make that possible or a new and better legislation in the future will lay claim to that distinction.

The bill’s primary thrust was in availing of the stipulations in current federal law that allows states to legalize and regulate online gambling as long as it is limited within the state’s borders.
Even the online gaming industry is not immune to globalization and the tenets of competitive advantage, but the open-market concept is starting to re-shape the dynamics.
The tide has turned yet again for the proposed online gambling bill in New Jersey. Recent reports indicate that the governor’s decision on New Jersey’s online gambling bill has been rescheduled to March 3, 2011.
